President's Welcome

Dear NABA Member,

I am honored to be our Chapter President for this fiscal year.  As president I would like you to join me on a mission of membership engagement and growth. In order to restore the Detroit Chapter to a level of prominence and relevance to our members and our community, we will need to shift our focus. As a leader of the Board, I recognize, neither I nor the Board can do this without you. This year, we intend to concentrate efforts to:

1. Increase our professional membership engagement - Engaged members make stronger contributions, are actively connected to the chapter and our community, and have a higher return on their investment in the organization. Through targeted professional development opportunities and financial literacy programs to elevate members in their careers and strengthen financial awareness in the community.

2. Strategically align our corporate partners – Mutually beneficial partnerships allow us to provide relevant programs our members are looking for while providing valuable connection points for our partners.

3. Expand student membership and scholarship opportunities – Our students are our future professional members. Ensuring a pathway for potential accounting professionals is vital to the long term success of the chapter and our mission. Developing structured and organic connectivity between Professional Chapter members and Student Chapter members through increased professional member presence, mentorship and joint networking opportunities.

Together we are going to make this a great year for NABA Detroit. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Latina S. Fauconier, CPA
